The hot pink fruit of Topaz Tamarind have a fleshy yellow aril at the base of each seed. Victoria’s Riflebird is rather dexterous with its long slender bill, which it uses to remove the fruit’s shiny black seed with the aril intact. This is all swallowed whole and the aril digested before the naked seed is later regurgitated.
